He was predeceased by: his parents, Jay Higgins and Amy Higgins (Gates); his wife Gwen; his son Scott; and his brother William Jacque Higgins.

He is survived by: his son Kent Higgins of Amherst; his granddaughters, Lucy Higgins Atkins of Whitefield and Genevieve Atkins Higgins (Rosendo Santizo); his great grandchild Mila Santizo of Hadley; and his daughter Kim Higgins of Staunton, Virginia..
