She was predeceased by: her parents, Horace Atkinson and Ellen Atkinson; her brother Eugene Atkinson; her niece Pamela Atkinson; and her stepgrandson Anthony Simmons.
She is survived by: her husband Wayne Wheeler; her son Randy Wheeler (Frances); her grandsons, Derek (Michelle), Corey (Bri) and Brice Wheeler; her great grandchildren, Colton, Aleeyah Wheeler and Chloe Simmons; and her sisters, Nina Blount, Brenda Carter (Ray) and Gail Sink (Carlton).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Verona United Methodist Church, 406 Lee Highway, Verona, VA 24482.
