She was predeceased by: her parents, Mulvie Spinks Grimes and Hazel Ruth Grimes (Brown); her husband William Edward Patteson; and her son-in-law Johnny Wayne Parnell. She is survived by: her daughters, Rebecca Ellen Rhodenizer (Jason), Verona Parnell and Loretta Ruth Parnell of Crimora; her granddaughters, Miranda Elizabeth Rhodenizer, Kristin Cheyenne Rhodenizer and Kayla Nicole Parnell; and her siblings, Dollie Marie Wilfong, Anna Lee Swiggett, Mulvie William "Bill" Grimes and Thomas Ward Grimes.
