She was predeceased by: her parents, George Baten and Louise Agnes Johnson (Woods); her son Thomas Glenn Fitzgerald; her grandson Aaron Thomas Keplinger; and her siblings, George Johnson and Nellie Hays.
She is survived by: her husband Santiago Ortiz, Sr. of Verona; her children, Denise Smith (Randy), Penny Keplinger (Kevin), Santiago Ortiz, Jr. (Vickie), Izzy Ortiz (Nannette), Maria Ortiz (John) and Frutoso Ortiz (Mary Ellen); and her grandchildren, Brandon Clark, Kelsey Mashinski, Jacob Keplinger, Jasmine Keplinger, Taralissa Jones, Isaac Ortiz, Rebecca Kreuter, Christina Rossell, Juliana Gustafson, Megan Ortiz and April Fitzgerald.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory (230 Frontier Dr, Staunton, VA 24401). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel (230 Frontier Dr, Staunton, VA 24401). A burial was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Augusta Memorial Park (1775 Old Goose Crk Rd, Waynesboro, VA 22980).
