With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Georgie S. O'Bannon of Verona, Virginia, who passed away on November 11, 2024 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Georgie farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Georgie is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George William, Sr. and Mary Priscilla Wiley Simpson; and her brother Alfred Houston Simpson. She is survived by: her husband Powell O'Bannon; her stepdaughters, Cherie Houston and Dana Griffin; her sister Betty Lou Simpson Cord; and her nieces, Jonni Lou Cord and Elizabeth Downes.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105).
