He was predeceased by: his parents, Willoughby Deel and Bessie Boyd Deel; his son Ralph Deel; and his siblings, Kelly Deel, Irene Deel, Thomas, Billy and Jackie Deel.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Gray Mullins Deel of Vansant, VA; his daughters, Susie L. Edwards of New Mexico and Florence Evelyn Monda (Jerry) of Sevierville, TN; his daughter-in-law Sara Kathy Deel of Haysi, VA.; his grandsons, Buford Edwards, Nathan Deel and Ben Mayhew; and his great grandchild Declan Edwards. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Emmanuel Old Regular Baptist.
