He is survived by: his daughter-in-law Margaret Hale; his grandchildren, Charles Samuel Hale, II of Bristol, VA and Reece Hale Robertson (Brant) of Grundy, VA; his sister Virgie Taylor of Illinois; and his great grandchildren, Elijah Hale, Elizabeth Hale, Walker Robertson, Warner Robertson and Margot Mae Robertson.
