He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Ashby Tinder and Stella Belle Wolfrey Roach; his wife Betty Ann Tinder; his brother Robert Ashby Tinder Jr.; and his uncle Irving Wolfrey.

He is survived by: his daughter Kim Tinder Gallihugh (Page Gallihugh); his grandchildren, Eric Faulconer (Olivia Peterson), Kassie Faulconer (Nick Poulton) and Emily Faulconer; his great grandchild Wyatt Andrew Poulton; and his siblings, Virginia Louise Clay (Eddie Clay) and Charles Tinder. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and special cousins.
