She was predeceased by: her parents, McPherson and Georgene Frye, Sr.; and her brother McPherson Frye, Jr.. She is survived by: her sons, James E. Johnson, Jr (Paula) of Orange, Timothy A. Johnson (Bridget) of Rhoadesville, VA, Dwayne L. (Dana) of Charlottesville, VA and Larry L. Washington, Jr. (Pamela) of Locust Grove, VA; and her siblings, Clinton Frye, Mary Jackson, Joyce McRae and Pastor Marilyn Rankin. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in Evelyn's name to Antioch Baptist Church in Madison, VA.
