He was predeceased by: his wife Eva Mitchell; and his parents, Silas Mitchell and Mary Mitchell. He is survived by: his daughter Teresa Mitchell Green (Barry); his granddaughters, Tina and Mary Green; his sister Patsy Cadd; and his nephew John Sawyer (Dena). He is also survived by several friends and other family members.
