She was predeceased by: her parents, Aulton James Birckhead and Margaret Shifflett Birckhead; her husband Clarence Rosser Thurman Jr.; and her brother Aubrey Birckhead. She is survived by: her son Clarence "Keith" Thurman (Marci); her granddaughter Emily Aurora Thurman of Troy; her brother Bobby Lee Birckhead; her nephew Bobby Lee Birckhead Jr.; and her niece Teresa Birckhead Bryant of Earlysville.
