She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward W. Carter and Manilla A. Carter; her husband Alvin Hicks; and her daughter Denise. She is survived by: her daughters, Gwendolyn (Michael) and Ellen (Todd). She is also survived by eight grandchildren.
