She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie and Betsy (Jefferson); her husband Clarence Richard Garland; her stepfather Lewis Edward Mills, Sr.; her siblings, Evelyn and Carlton; and her brothers-in-law, Haynes Brown Sr. and Rylander Carter, Sr..
She is survived by: her children, Terri (William), Amy, Evangelist Joyce Groomes, Eric (Nikki) and Benjamin of Troy, VA; her siblings, Linda Grooms (Willie), Margaret Carter, Elnora Brown and Charles (Dorothy); and her brothers-in-law, Robert Garland of Louisa, VA and Thomas Garland of Cismont, VA. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
