He was predeceased by: his parents, Amy Gladys Payne and Oscar Clifford Payne; and his siblings, Edna Payne Pugh, Eugene Payne, William "Billy" Payne and Norman Payne.
He is survived by: his siblings, Curtis Payne, Agnes Wichael (Gene), Nora Light and Elizabeth Bartholomew (Max). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Bybee's Road Baptist Church (4989 Bybees Church Rd, Troy, VA 22974). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
