He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Short and Esther Forga Short; and his siblings, Thomas Gerald Short, Sue Davis and Barbara Stanley.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Riley Short; his sons, James Short (Bonnie), Ron Short, Mike Short (Rachel) and Steve Short; his sisters, Linda Wood, Charlotte Stiles (Eddie) and Teresa Stovall (Jerry); and his brothers-in-law, Clark Riley and Harold Riley (Dotty). He is also survived by eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
