He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Barnett and Ethel Young Barnett; his wife Hazel Lee Yates Barnett; his son Bobby Allen Barnett; his grandchildren, Tracy Lance Pannell, Rebecca and Stephanie Barnett; and his siblings, Kenneth, Alvin Barnett and Geneva Yates.
He is survived by: his children, Connie Pannell (Ambrose), Michael Barnett (June) and Patricia Gibson (Tommy); his grandchildren, Mark Pannell (Jennifer), Kris Barnett, Jamey Barnett, Kurtis Barnett (Leanna), Emily Chaklos (Joe) and Jonathan Gibson (Stacie); his great grandchildren, Michelle, Matthew, Justin, Nicholas, Eric, Amanda, Justus, Maisun, Sawyer Rose and Caleb; his niece Norma Dempsey; and his friends, Cecil Dalton and Evelyn Bond.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Wounded Warrior Project to bring independence back to our most severely wounded soldiers.
