He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter H. Sharp, Sr. and Estha Shepherd Sharp; and his brother Jimmy K. Sharp. He is survived by: his wife Doris Mae Prevost; his sons, Walter Harry "Buddy" Sharp, III (Anne) and James Robert Sharp (Pam); his grandchildren, Walter Gary Sharp, Jr. (Claire), Amanda Sharp Loucks (Deon), Ryan Dunfee (Jen) and Austin Riley Sharp; and his great grandchildren, Audrey Anne Loucks, Cody William Loucks, Calvin Brannigan Sharp, Alice Marie Sharp, Ashton Riley Sharp, Grace Rose Sharp and Owen Asher Dunfee. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
