He was predeceased by: his former wife Janet Smith. He is survived by: his wife Wanda Wisecarver of Greeneville, TN; his daughters, Laraye Berry (Jeff) and Cynthia Gallant (Mitch); and his grandchildren, Jesse Garland, Adam Gallant (Arlissa), Kaitlyn Jackson (Jake) and Jacob Berry. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
In recognition of his significant contributions to the community, Dixon-Smith Middle School was named in his honor in 2007.
