The passing of Howard Gholson Sr. of Triangle, Virginia, born in Lawrenceville, Virginia leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on March 13, 2025 at the age of 86. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Howard Gholson and Maude Briggs Gholson Skeeter; his brothers, Richard and John Walter; his uncle John Briggs; and his stepfather Johnson Skeeter.

He is survived by: his friend Glorine; his significant other Glorine Williams Gholson; his children, Debbie Gholson Wright and Howard William Gholson, Jr. (Jay); his grandsons, Wesley and Isaiah (Zay); and his great grandchild Eden Wright.

Through the National Science Foundation program, he did further studies at Howard University and other universities as registered with the NSF.

“I have known Howard since our student days at the James Solomon Russell High School in Lawrenceville, Va. We were in the same boy scout troop and he quickly emerged as an outstand person and leader. I shall always remember his boundless energy and commitment to paying it forward He was clearly one of Lawrenceville's best. I pray that Glorine and his family are comforted by the memories of his good deeds and legacy of the impact he had on so many lives. He will truly be missed.”
