He was predeceased by: his parents, Melton Hummer and Mary Reid Hummer; his daughter Barbara Ann Hummer; his stepdaughter Teresa Anita Bonk; his grandson Scott Hummer; and his brother Robert Hummer.

He is survived by: his wife Laura Anita Meads Hummer; his sons, Robert Wayne Hummer (Dana) and Jon McKennon; his stepson Mike Moore (Sherri); his stepgrandchildren, Michael Moore, Jr., Hollie Moore, Morgan Rawlins and Brenton Rawlins (Laura); and his sister Marie Ellison. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
