It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elsie V. Walker Woodland (Triangle, Virginia), who passed away on April 21, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Sr. Walker and Martha Walker; and her siblings, Cynthia Johnson, Hazel Miller, Bettie Ingram, Jacquelyn Walker, James Walker, Jr., Paul Walker and Mark Walker, Sr..
She is survived by: her sisters, Melinda Hill (Errol) and Helen Pearson (John); and her godchildren, Natasha McGhee, Carmen Ingram-Thorpe, Krishna Ingram, Ashely Miller, Raven Collic, John Pearson, Jr. and Travis Hill. She is also survived by great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and sorority sisters.
Viewing will be held on Monday, April 28th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc. (102 South Ave, Petersburg, VA 23803-4220). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Tabernacle Baptist Church (444 Halifax St, Petersburg, VA 23803). A burial will be held on Wednesday, April 30th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the National Memorial Cemetery (18424 Joplin Rd, Triangle, VA 22172).
