He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Howard Armstrong, Sr. and Etta Dean Weaver. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Armstrong; his siblings, Elizabeth Hammond, Eva Kay Monger, Glen Armstrong and Linda; his brother-in-law Robert Fulk (Bobby); his children, William (Howie) and Melissa Whitmore; his grandchildren, DiAnna Osbon (Kyle), Ocean Armstrong and Skyler Whitmore (Vlada); his great grandchildren, Emory Osbon, Brady Osbon and Vivian Whitmore; and his pet Daphne. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Kyger Funeral Home - Harrisonburg (3173 Spotswood Trail, Harrisonburg, VA 22801). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
