He was predeceased by: his parents, Atlee Jeter Witt and Martha Sadie Carter Witt; and his son Paul Witt. He is survived by: his wife Garnetta Maxfield Witt; his son David Witt (Melisa); his grandchildren, Jordan Little (Greg) and Hunter Witt; and his great grandchildren, Emileigh Little and Owen Little.
