He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Ann Thornton; his parents, Harvey Roy Thornton and Audrey McGee Thornton; and his great-nephew Caleb Paul Taylor. He is survived by: his siblings, Jean Thornton Taylor (Charles Coulbourne), Carol Thornton Purdy (Craig) of Pocomoke and Harlan W. Thornton (Jean) of Temperanceville; his nieces and nephews, Kristin Grandy, Kimberly Marshall, Karen Atkins, Wade E. Taylor, Scott Taylor, Carla Makinen and Chris Purdy; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Elizabeth, Ryan Grandy, Paige Marshall, Dalton, Cooper Atkins, Ethan, Meredith, Riley, Blake, Colby Taylor, Landon, Layton, Callan Makinen, Gabby, Kenzie and Emme Purdy.
