He was predeceased by: his parents, John Daniel Johnson and Dorcas Naomi Lester; his wife Bobbie Eileen Johnson; his granddaughter Dorothy; his great grandchild Patricia; and his siblings, Robert, Carmel, John Smeltzer, Louise Tolliver, Judy Riley and Sarah Jane Gillette.
He is survived by: his children, Marilyn Rogers (Mike) of Beech Grove, AR, Gwen Miller (Carl) of Wilcox, AZ and Walter H. Johnson, Jr. (Patricia) of Martinez, CA; his grandchildren, Garth, Ethan, Katy and Rebecca; his siblings, Joseph Smeltzer (Barbara), Geraldine Johnson and Naomi Jenkins (Louis) of Tazewell, VA; and his great-nephews, Jonathon, Jacob and Jaxton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
