He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Pruitt and Lucy Stewart Pruitt; his wife Brenda Kay Pruitt; and his brothers, Clarence and Jerry Pruitt.
He is survived by: his daughters, Virginia Bogle (Richard Hess) of Mundytown, VA and Lucille Hope Pruitt (Michael Underwood) of North Tazewell, VA; and his close friend Walter Bogle. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
