He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Flanner and Nancy Flanner; and his brothers, Jimmy Flanner, Arvil Flanner, Ray and Roy Flanner.
He is survived by: his wife Ella Marie Flanner of Baptist Valley, VA; his sons, Randall Flanner of Baptist Valley, VA and Ronald Flanner of Tazewell, VA; and his sisters, Crystal Senic (Joe) of Baptist Valley, VA and Patty Whitt of Ararat, VA. He is also survived by six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
In more recent years, he volunteered helping seniors through the RSVP program.
