She was predeceased by: her parents, William Lindsey and Lucy Mundy Brooks; her husband Lawrence Albert Whitt; her son William Thomas; her son-in-law Johnny F. Mullins; and her siblings, Sylvia Brooks Bales and Bernard Brooks.

She is survived by: her niece Vicki Whitt Lott; and her children, Aleta Ferguson (Perry) of Woodbridge, VA, Carolyn Jo Mullins of Wittens Mill, VA, Albert Whitt, Jr. (Patricia) of Mudfork, VA, Glen Whitt (Connie) of Elizabethton, TN, Robert Whitt (Debbie) of Wittens Mill, VA and Charles Whitt (Lois) of Gratton, VA. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; nine great great-grandchildren.

“When I heard of Jessie Lee's passing, my first thought was of Carolyn and the family. Sorrow, sadness and disbelief, all crowded my mind. Then I smiled because I knew there was a big celebration in heaven. My sweet Mom passed away last Nov. and she and Jessie Lee were friends , I think from childhood. I can just see them having a wonderful reunion, reunited once again in a beautiful land, with Jesus and all who have gone before. Praying for the family. Wilma Shrader”
