He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Nathan Maxfield and Georgia Maude Quesenberry Maxfield. He is survived by: his wife Stella Maxfield; his children, Mark Maxfield (Kay), Rex Maxfield (Donna) and Pamela Maxfield (Sam Large); his sister Peggy Cothery; his sister-in-law Janet Young; and his grandchildren, Ashley Maxfield, Emilee Maxfield, Bradley Maxfield, Justin Large and Whitney Cockman. He is also survived by two great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be directed to the Food Pantry at Tazewell First Assembly of God Church, P.O. Box 249 North Tazewell, VA 24630.
