He was predeceased by: his parents, James O. Stevenson and Ellen Katherine Hayton Stevenson; and his siblings, Buddy, Richard, James "Gabby", Doug Stevenson, Martha Bell Grubb, Joella Albano, Erma French, Janice Griffin and Donna Jones.

He is survived by: his sisters, Alice Day of Burlington, NC and Deborah Mangus (Craig) of Bluefield, WV; his sister-in-law Lillian Stevenson; his nephew Billy of Ohio; his close friend Yonna Hurt; and also London.
