She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert William Whitson and Mary Elizabeth Moore Whitson; her husband Woodrow Wilson Tackett; her daughter Katherine Louise Tackett; and her sisters, Ethyl Whitson Zeno and Maggie Blanton.
She is survived by: her sister Edith Katherine Braddy of Tarboro, NC; her nieces and nephews, Margarette Yvonne Thompson of Joppa, Dianna Kathleen Gibson of Blacksburg, Judy Lynn Boothe (Jerry) of Tazewell and Mary Elizabeth Ratliff (Randall) of Lebanon, Virginia.; and her grandchildren, Eugenia Pack Lasky, Cynthia DeiTos, Ralph Herman Steck, Woodrow Christopher Steck, Deborah Gail Porterfield, Jeffrey Wayne Gibson, Terrin Lee Dye, Ryan Allen Dye and Austin Jade Ratliff. She is also survived by twenty one great grandchildren, fifteen great-great grandchildren, and one great-great-great grandchild.
