He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Mabe and Virginia Bowling Mabe; his son Aaron Smeltzer; and his siblings, Johnny James Mabe and Linda Elaine Dean.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Smeltzer Mabe; his sons, Billy R. Mabe, Jr. (Melissa Saunders) of Claypool Hill, VA and James Samuel Mabe of North Tazewell, VA; his siblings, Jackie Mabe, Wendell Mabe, Betty White and Diane Honaker; his grandchildren, Clay Mabe, Sarah Mabe, Ryan Mabe, Kailey Mabe and Kyle Mabe; his great grandchildren, Octavia Mabe and Lucas Mabe; and his nieces and nephews, Titus and Sydney Rife. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
