He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Franklin Bennett and Mattie Jane Olinger Bennett; his wife Juanita Mae Brooks Bennett; and his siblings, Flossie Porter, Mary Louise Lester, Margaret Yeager and Dave Bennett.
He is survived by: his nephews, Keith Spurgeon of North Tazewell, VA and Hadley Lester; and his niece Martha Pohlhaus of Maryland.
