He is survived by: his wife Shirley Wright; his daughters, Cathy Hedges (Wayne), Donna Jorgensen (Gary), Penny Grubbs (Tommy), Wendy Roark, Sandi Shaver and Sharon Ambrose (Chris); his stepdaughter Lisa Barnhardt; and his sister Brenda Wright. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

“I want to send my condolences to David Wright's family. My mother,Mary Posey, told me about David's passing. When I first moved to Tappahannock I was 8 years old. David's daughters, Wendy and Sandi were the first friends I met. As well as his stepdaughter Lisa. I used to watch his daughter Sharon when she was a very young girl.
