He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Earnest Byrd and Minnie Belle Byrd; his son Sterling Keith Byrd; and his sisters, Inez Crockett, Sue Shortt, Betty "Patty" Thomas and Gertrude Byrd.
He is survived by: his wife Jacqueline K. Byrd; his children, Regina Garlic (Chuck) of Salem, Virginia Rhonda Alley (Jerry) of Cedar Bluff and Jeffrey W. Byrd of Richlands, Virginia; and his sisters, Judy Magente of Laport and Rita Farley of Bono. He is also survived by 20 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren.
