He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy Laura Herndon. He is survived by: his sons, Philip James Herndon Jr. (Connie Herndon) of Lebanon, VA and Steven Ray Herndon of Swords Creek, VA.. He is also survived by many grandchildren, nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law.
