She was predeceased by: her parents, Carlos James "Pete" and Gaynelle "Nellie" Lockhart Miller; and her siblings, Cecil Miller and Ola Gay Strouth. She is survived by: her husband Rev. Leo Hess; her children, Nelson Hess of Swords Creek, Virginia, Tommy Lynn Hess (Tammy) of Swords Creek, Virginia and Sandy Hess (Danny) of Swords Creek, Virginia; her grandchildren, Dustin Shortt, Joshua Hess, Channing Hubbard (Morgan), Nikki Hess and Adam Hess; her stepgrandson Nathan Hurt (Angie); her great grandchildren, Makayla Hess and Irelynn Hess; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Abbigail Hurt and Hunter Hurt; and her siblings, Dewayne Miller (Ona Mae), Judy Hess, David Miller (Sandy) and Betty Keen (Dean). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
