It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John L. Boyd Sr. of Swords Creek, Virginia, who passed away on June 8, 2022, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Boyd and Gladys Boyd of Swords Creek, VA.; his wife Elsie Boyd; his children, John L. Boyd Jr. and Christine Friend; his daughter-in-law Karen Boyd; and his siblings, Katie, Benjamin and Otto.
He is survived by: his children, Carmella Chapman (David Gillespie), Joseph Earl Boyd, Cathie Edwards (James) and Cindy Strickland (Bill). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
