He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Carter and Bessie Carter; and his siblings, Betty Sessor, Carl Carter, Charles Carter, Jimmy Carter and Tommy Carter.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Blackwell Carter; his sons, Wayne Carter (Angel) and Joe Carter (Amanda); his grandchildren, Austin, Luke, Abbie, Eli, Sydney and Payton; and his siblings, Billy Carter, Robert Carter, Linda McGhee and Mary McGhee. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
