He was predeceased by: his daughter Samantha Gail Shupe; and his parents, Joel Shupe and Mary Shupe. He is survived by: his wife Susan Hancock Shupe of Marion; his children, Pamela Sue Harris (Steve) of Marion, Peggy Louise Shupe (Chris Royer) of Marion, John Harrison Shupe Jr. (Heather) of Ceres and Travis Carter Shupe (Lindsay) of Marion; his brothers, Mike Shupe (Dorie) of Ceres and Billy Ellison of Ceres; his siblings-in-law, Bill Cregger of Wytheville, Betty Shupe of Atkins and Donna Shupe of Marion; and his close friends, Virginia Hutton and Keith Crabtree. He is also survived by two aunts; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
