He was predeceased by: his parents, Cappie Blackmon and Charles Curtis Blackmon; his son Albert Montgomery "Monty" Blackmon, Sr.; his great grandchildren, Tyson Rogers and Henry Blackmon; and his siblings, Elvie Blackmon Caney, Vera Blackmon McMullan, Mabel Blackmon Throckmorton, Jeffrey Blackmon and Charles Blackmon.
He is survived by: his children, Tanya Blackmon Jones, Hobart, Zack Worrell Blackmon, Jr., Sherry, Deidre Blackmon Rogers and Mark; his grandchildren, Dr. Richard Jackson, II (Jennifer Jackson), Zach Jackson (Jennifer), Jennifer Jackson, Erin Haymore (Daniel), Zack Worrell Blackmon, III (Ashley), Albert Montgomery Blackmon, Jr. (Rachel), Dustin Rogers (Britni) and Deyton Gough (Chase); his great grandchildren, Ryan, Skyler Weber, Parker, Cooper Jackson, Emilynn, Davis Haymore, Makenzie, Bryce Blackmon, Kenedi Blaire, Hudson Rogers, Baylor Gough, Albie and Ruby Grace Blackmon; and the mother of his children Betty Bunker Blackmon.
The family asks in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Surry Arts Council Capital Fund, Post Office Box 141, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
