He is survived by: his son James Edwin Baum, Jr. of Mt; his stepchildren, Carol Scales, Jayne Pittman, Lloyd Scales, Merlin Scales of Mt and Brenda Scales of Ararat, VA; his siblings, Phyllis Fleming of Mt and Harry Baum of Waynesboro, VA.; his sister-in-law June of Waynesboro, VA.; his wife Dorothy Brown Baum; his stepson David Scales; and his brother-in-law Howard Fleming. He is also survived by three grandchildren; many great grandchildren.
