He was predeceased by: his father Coy Atkins; his wife Bonnie Wilson Atkins; and his siblings, Sally Holder, Alma Robertson, Marie Brintle, Mary Ruth McGee, Nick Atkins, Junior Atkins, Curtis Atkins, Ernest Atkins, Max Atkins and Fox Atkins.
He is survived by: his sister Sandra; and his brother-in-law Eddie Ray Draughn of Mount Airy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
