It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ambrose Dowell Jr. (Surry, Virginia), who passed away on December 3, 2018, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Camalure Hooker Dowell; his son Fred Dowell; his great grandchild Jordan Crissman; and his siblings, Edith Joyce, Betty Neese, Patricia Terrell, Roscoe Dowell, Leo Dowell, Byron Dowell, Charles Dowell, Harry Dowell and Jack Dowell.
He is survived by: his daughter Wanda Gunnell; his son-in-law Ricky Gunnell; his sons, Jerry Dowell and Larry (Vicki Dowell); his grandchildren, Kayla Gunnell, Amanda Crissman (Zack), Tabitha Easter, Tracy Gunnell, Kiefer Dowell and Autumn Dowell; his great grandchild Hunter Easter; and his siblings-in-law, Opal Marion, Thelma Dowell, Nancy, Adams, Carolyne Churchill, Jimmy and Carole Dowell of Mary Dowell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
