He was predeceased by: his wife Velma Carolyn Phipps Barker; and his siblings, Garnett Barker, Max Barker and Joan Bowles. He is survived by: his children, Norman Barker (Terry) of Fredericksburg, VA, Eddie Barker of Sugar Grove, VA, Don Barker (Tammy) of Rural Retreat, VA, Doug Barker (Debbie) of Alexandria, VA, Joe Barker (Corinne) of Jacksonville, FL, Becky Jones (Jerry) of Elon, NC, Susie Poole (John) of Bristol, VA and Betsy Shearin (James "Arch") of Independence, VA; his brother Tom Barker (Carol) of Sugar Grove, VA; his grandson John Barker (Erin); his great grandchildren, Mary, Jacob, Aaron, Patrick, Emilie, Alli, Abby, Carson, Asher, Micah, Leila, Eliana, Averi June, Ava Grace and Jaxon; and his siblings-in-law, Jerry Bowles of Narrows, VA, Pete Phipps of Chilhowie, Lucille Barker of Bristol, TN and Nancy Hodge (Bill) of Independence.
