He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Dempsey and Irene Sheets Dempsey. He is survived by: his wife Ann Dempsey of Sugar Grove; his children, Jason Dempsey (Brandi) of Sugar Grove, Amy Dempsey of Christiansburg and Terry Dempsey (Jessica) of Sugar Grove; his grandchildren, Maddie, Alyssa and Adrianna; and his siblings, James Dempsey (Bobby Jo) of Marion, Dennis Dempsey (Glenda) of Glade Spring, Gary Dempsey of Marion, Johnny Dempsey (Connie) of Marion, Gene Dempsey of Marion and Karen Baines (Donald) of Chilhowie. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
