He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy LaBelle and Isabella LaBelle; his wife Barbara E. LaBelle (Schroeder); his siblings, Elizabeth (Betty), Florence and Maurice "Moe"; his sons, Brian A. and Randal D.; and his grandson James R. Ritter.
He is survived by: his children, William M. Jr. of Suffolk and Terri L. Smiley of Virginia Beach; and his sister-in-law Elizabeth LaBelle (Liz). He is also survived by three grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
