He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred A. Hopkins, Jr. and Teresa A. Hopkins (Festa); and his brothers-in-law, Steve Marshall and James Bedegrew. He is survived by: his daughter Kristi Martel (Andy); his grandsons, Jesse Hopkins and William Martel; his daughters, Jennifer Wotring and Leslie Hawkins; and his sisters, Patricia Loder [Ken], Susan Bedegrew [James], Sandra Bowman [Harold] and Sherry Marshall Newsom [Alan]. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Funeral Home North Suffolk Chapel (5685 Lee Farm Ln, Suffolk, VA 23435). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Ce&h Ruritan Club (8881 Eclipse Dr, Suffolk, VA 23433).
