He was predeceased by: his parents, Mabell Pegram and Willie Pegram; and his brother Raymond Pegram. He is survived by: his wife Phyllistine M. Pegram; his children, Arnette Pegram of Jacksonville, FL, Buffie Finley (Lydell) of Bowie, MD, Paula Almond of Upper Marlboro, MD and Leon "Val" Pegram of Virginia Beach, VA; his siblings, Juanita Clark-Vaughan of Petersburg, VA, Mireya K. Coleman of Dinwiddie, VA, Matthew L. Pegram Sr. (Sarah) of Miami, FL and Herbert W. Coleman, Jr. of Petersburg, VA; his grandchildren, Ashley Mendez, Tahj Faulk, Tyrrell Pegram, Jordan Burgunder, Alex Burgunder, Cameron Shytles, Devan Wade, Alaina Mahoney and Jordan Almond; his great grandchildren, Avery Adams and Cataleya Pegram; and his uncle Atwater Todd of Petersburg, VA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
