He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Johnson and Ruth B. Hamlin Johnson; his grandsons, Samme Smith, Monte Johnson, Jeffrey Baysmore, Jr., Rasheed Talley and DeMarcus Anderson; his great grandchildren, Joh'Saani Baysmore and JKyle T. Lewis; and his daughter Patricia Holmes (Vernon Woodson).
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Perry Johnson; his children, Chris Johnson (Constance), IamMaku Allah (Keona Lawrence), David Harris (Pamela Peterson), Deidra J. Hill (Don), Sonya Brown (Michael), Tracey Wilson (Tommy Hamlin), Makeshia Holmes, Monica Floyd (Byron) and Robin Johnson-Parham (Antonio); his sisters, Betty Ann Pope, Marree Mabine and Teresa Johnson; his aunt Dorothy Jefferson; his adoptive daughters, Darlene Harris, Angela Harris-Lenoir, Vanessa Cannady and Vanessa Walker; and his close friend Rosa Joyner. He is also survived by 3 sister, relatives and friends.
